Band-assisted dip

Needs
Dip bars, resistance bands

Setup

Loop a band across the two dip bars. Hold the bars and kneel on the band, arms straight, shoulders pressed down.

Steps

  1. Lean forward a little.
  2. Bend your elbows and lower your body until your upper arms are about level with the bars.
  3. Push back up until your arms are straight.

Breathing

Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you push.

Where you feel it

In the back of your upper arms and your lower chest.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the shoulders rise toward the ears.
  • Dropping fast to the bottom.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if the front of your shoulder aches.
