Resistance bands

Setup

Stand tall. Hold a light band in front of your chest with both hands, shoulder-width apart, arms straight.

Steps

  1. Pull the band apart by moving your hands out to the sides.
  2. Stop when the band touches your chest.
  3. Return slowly.

Breathing

Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you pull.

Where you feel it

Behind your shoulders and between your shoulder blades.

Common mistakes

  • Bending the elbows.
  • Arching the lower back.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Check the band for cracks before you start.
