Band-assisted pull-up

- Pull-up bar, resistance bands
Setup
Loop a strong band over the bar and pull one end through the other. Put one knee or one foot in the loop. Hold the bar with palms facing away.
Steps
- Start from a full hang.
- Pull your chest toward the bar until your chin is above it.
- Lower slowly to a full hang.
Breathing
Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you pull.
Where you feel it
In the sides of your back and the front of your upper arms.
Common mistakes
- Letting the band throw you up fast.
- Stopping short of a full hang.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
Check the band for cracks before you start, and step out of it with care.
