Setup
Stand tall and hold the bar in front of your thighs, hands shoulder-width apart, palms facing forward.
Steps
- Keep your elbows by your sides.
- Curl the bar up toward your shoulders.
- Lower it slowly until your arms are straight.
Breathing
Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you lift.
Where you feel it
In the front of your upper arms.
Common mistakes
- Leaning back to swing the bar.
- Letting the elbows move forward.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
Stop if your wrists ache; try dumbbells instead.
