Setup
Stand facing a wall with your hands on it. Step one foot back.
Steps
- Keep the back leg straight and its heel on the floor.
- Bend the front knee and lean toward the wall.
- Hold for half the time you chose.
- Bend the back knee a little and hold for the rest. Then change legs.
Breathing
Breathe slowly. Let each breath out take you a little further, without forcing it.
Where you feel it
In the calf of the back leg, high and then low.
Common mistakes
- Letting the back heel lift.
- Turning the back foot out.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
