  • Front of the hip · iliopsoas and rectus femoris

Needs
No equipment

Setup

Sit on the floor with legs straight. Put your hands flat beside your hips, or on two sturdy blocks or dip bars.

Steps

  1. Push down through your hands and lift your hips off the floor.
  2. Lift your feet too, knees bent if you need to.
  3. Hold for the time you chose.

Breathing

Breathe slowly and evenly. Do not hold your breath.

Where you feel it

In your stomach, the front of your hips and the back of your arms.

Common mistakes

  • Shrugging the shoulders up to the ears.
  • Leaning far back.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
