Neck side stretch

Setup
Sit tall on a chair. Hold the edge of the seat with your right hand.
Steps
- Tip your left ear slowly toward your left shoulder.
- Stop when you feel a gentle stretch on the right side of your neck.
- Rest your left hand on your head. Do not pull.
- Hold for the time you chose, then change sides.
Breathing
Breathe slowly. Let each breath out take you a little further, without forcing it.
Where you feel it
Along the side of your neck and the top of your shoulder.
Common mistakes
- Pulling on the head with the hand.
- Lifting the shoulder toward the ear.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
Stop if you feel tingling in your arm or hand.
