Setup

Stand with one foot in front of the other, knees soft, hands up by your face.

Steps

  1. Throw straight punches forward, one hand after the other.
  2. Turn your body a little with each punch.
  3. Bring each hand straight back to your face.
  4. Keep moving your feet lightly.

Breathing

Breathe out sharply with each punch.

Where you feel it

In your shoulders, the sides of your trunk and your breathing.

Common mistakes

  • Locking the elbows hard at the end of a punch.
  • Dropping the hands between punches.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your elbows or shoulders ache.
