Setup
Sit near the front of a sturdy chair that cannot slide. Put your feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart, a little behind your knees.
Steps
- Lean your chest forward over your knees.
- Push through your whole foot and stand up tall.
- Reach your hips back and sit down slowly.
- Use your hands on your thighs only if you need them.
Breathing
Take a breath and tighten your stomach before each rep. Breathe out as you come up.
Where you feel it
In the front of your thighs and your buttocks.
Common mistakes
- Dropping onto the seat instead of lowering.
- Letting the knees fall inward.
- Rocking back and forth to get up.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
