Setup

Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat. Hook your feet under a sofa if you need to. Cross your arms on your chest.

Steps

  1. Curl your head and shoulders up.
  2. Keep curling until you are sitting up.
  3. Lower slowly, one part of the back at a time.

Breathing

Breathe out as you curl up. Breathe in as you lower.

Where you feel it

In the front of your stomach and the front of your hips.

Common mistakes

  • Jerking up with the arms.
  • Dropping back to the floor.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your lower back aches.
