Setup

Stand on the middle of the rope. The handles should reach your armpits. Skip on a firm, flat floor that is not concrete if you can.

Steps

  1. Turn the rope with your wrists, not your arms.
  2. Jump just high enough for the rope to pass.
  3. Land softly on the balls of your feet.
  4. Rest when you trip, then start again.

Breathing

Breathe as fast as you need to. Slow down if you cannot catch your breath between efforts.

In your calves and breathing.

Common mistakes

  • Jumping high.
  • Turning the rope with the whole arm.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your shins or ankles ache.
