Setup

Lie face down. Put your elbows under your shoulders and your forearms flat on the floor.

Steps

  1. Press your forearms down gently to lift your chest.
  2. Let your stomach and hips stay on the floor.
  3. Keep your neck long.
  4. Hold for the time you chose.

Breathing

Breathe slowly. Let each breath out take you a little further, without forcing it.

Where you feel it

A gentle bend in your lower back and a stretch in your stomach.

Common mistakes

  • Shrugging the shoulders up.
  • Pushing up into a pinch in the lower back.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your lower back pinches.
