Setup
Stand with one foot a long step in front of the other. Lift the back heel. Hold a wall or chair for balance if you need to.
Steps
- Keep your chest up.
- Bend both knees and lower your back knee toward the floor.
- Stop just before the knee touches.
- Push through the front foot to rise.
- Do all reps, then change legs.
Breathing
Take a breath and tighten your stomach before each rep. Breathe out as you come up.
Where you feel it
In the front of the thigh and the buttock of the front leg.
Common mistakes
- Letting the front knee fall inward.
- Standing with the feet in one line, which is hard to balance.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
