Walking lunge

Setup

Stand at one end of a clear space. Hold weights at your sides if you want more load.

Steps

  1. Take a long step forward.
  2. Lower your back knee toward the floor.
  3. Push through the front foot and bring the back foot forward into the next step.
  4. Count each step as one rep.

Breathing

Take a breath and tighten your stomach before each rep. Breathe out as you come up.

Where you feel it

In the front of your thighs and your buttocks.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the front knee fall inward.
  • Taking short steps so the knee goes far past the toes.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
