Setup
Wear shoes with good grip. Take water. Tell someone your route if you are going far.
Steps
- Shorten your steps on the way up.
- Lean slightly forward from the ankles, not the waist.
- On the way down, keep your knees soft and your steps short.
Breathing
Breathe in a steady rhythm. At an easy pace you can still say a short sentence.
Where you feel it
In your buttocks and thighs going up, and your thighs coming down.
Common mistakes
- Long steps uphill.
- Locking the knees on the way down.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
