Steps

  1. Bend your elbows and lower your head toward the floor between your hands.
  2. Move your chest forward, close to the floor, as if going under a low bar.
  3. Straighten your arms and lift your chest. Your hips stay low.
  4. Push your hips back up to the upside-down V.

Breathing

Breathe out as you move. Breathe in as you come back.

Where you feel it

In your shoulders, chest and the back of your upper arms. Your back and hips stretch.

Common mistakes

  • Rushing, so the movement becomes a fall.
  • Letting the lower back sag hard at the top.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your lower back pinches at the top.
