Works
  • Front of the shoulder · anterior deltoid
  • Side of the shoulder · lateral deltoid
  • Back of the upper arm · triceps brachii
Needs
No equipment

Setup

Start in a push-up position. Walk your feet toward your hands until your hips are high and your body makes an upside-down V.

Steps

  1. Look back toward your feet.
  2. Bend your elbows and lower the top of your head toward the floor, just in front of your hands.
  3. Stop before your head touches.
  4. Push back up until your arms are straight.

Breathing

Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you push.

Where you feel it

In your shoulders and the back of your upper arms.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the hips drop, which turns it into a push-up.
  • Lowering the head straight down between the hands instead of in front of them.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
