Kettlebell deadlift

Needs
Kettlebell or dumbbells

Setup

Stand with feet a little wider than your hips. Put a kettlebell on the floor between your feet, or a dumbbell standing on its end.

Steps

  1. Push your hips back and bend your knees to reach the handle.
  2. Keep your back flat and your chest up.
  3. Hold the handle with both hands.
  4. Push through your feet and stand up tall.
  5. Lower the weight to the floor the same way.

Breathing

Take a breath and tighten your stomach before each rep. Breathe out as you come up.

Where you feel it

In your buttocks, the back of your thighs and your lower back.

Common mistakes

  • Rounding the back to reach the handle.
  • Lifting with the arms.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
