Setup

Lie on your back with legs straight and hands under your buttocks or by your sides.

Steps

  1. Press your lower back into the floor.
  2. Lift your legs until they point at the ceiling.
  3. Lower them slowly. Stop before your lower back lifts.

Breathing

Breathe out as you curl up. Breathe in as you lower.

Where you feel it

In the lower part of your stomach and the front of your hips.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the lower back arch as the legs lower.
  • Dropping the legs.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.

Stop if your lower back aches; bend your knees.
