Setup
Stand on one foot on the edge of a step with your heel hanging off. Hold a wall or rail for balance.
Steps
- Rise onto the ball of your foot as high as you can.
- Lower your heel slowly below the step.
- Do all reps, then change feet.
Breathing
Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you lift.
Where you feel it
In the calf of the standing leg.
Common mistakes
- Bouncing.
- Leaning on the wall to lift.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
