Setup

Stand beside a wall or the back of a chair, close enough to touch it.

Steps

  1. Shift your weight onto one foot.
  2. Lift the other foot a little off the floor.
  3. Hold for the time you chose. Touch the wall if you wobble.
  4. Change legs.
  5. Close your eyes only when this is easy with them open.

Breathing

Breathe slowly and evenly. Do not hold your breath.

Where you feel it

Small movements in your ankle, foot and the side of your hip.

Common mistakes

  • Locking the standing knee hard.
  • Standing far from any support.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
