Setup
Clip the safety key to your clothes. Walk for five minutes first, then raise the speed.
Steps
- Run in the middle of the belt with short, light steps.
- Look ahead, not at your feet.
- Set a slope of about one per cent if you want it to feel like running outdoors.
- Walk for a few minutes before stopping.
Breathing
Breathe in a steady rhythm. At an easy pace you can still say a short sentence.

In your legs and breathing.
Common mistakes
- Running near the back of the belt.
- Changing speed with big jumps.
When to stop
Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
