Setup

Stand facing a wall, one long step away from it. Put your hands on the wall at shoulder height, a little wider than your shoulders.

Steps

  1. Tighten your stomach so your body is straight from head to heels.
  2. Bend your elbows and bring your chest toward the wall.
  3. Stop when your nose is close to the wall.
  4. Push the wall away until your arms are straight.

Breathing

Breathe in as you lower. Breathe out as you push.

Where you feel it

In your chest and the back of your upper arms.

Common mistakes

  • Standing too close, so the movement is very small.
  • Pushing the hips back instead of keeping the body straight.
  • Letting the elbows point straight out to the sides.

When to stop

Stop if you feel sharp pain, pain in a joint, dizziness or numbness.
